Medieval New Year with the War of the Roses Federation

You are invited to experience a Medieval New Year celebration at Avoncroft Museum’s special re-enactment event. The Medieval New Year weekend takes place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April, between 10.30 and 5pm.

Historical re-enactors from The War of the Roses Federation will be hosting their traditional New Year celebrations at Avoncroft.

In Medieval times New Year wasn’t celebrated in January, but was generally celebrated on either the Feast of the Annunciation (25th March) or at Easter – so we’re hedging our bets by celebrating in between the two!

Visitors can enjoy strolling around the grounds and visit the Medieval living history camps as they mark the occasion.
